Quick answers

What do you need to know?

12 answers

Can I save recipes from TikTok and Instagram?

Yes. Share or paste a supported social link into TasteBuddy. The app tries to turn it into ingredients, steps, and other recipe details. A post with too little information may need editing.

Does recipe import work with every website?

TasteBuddy supports many recipe websites, but not every source provides the same quality. Paywalls, login pages, or unstructured content can require a manual fallback or corrections.

Can I import screenshots or handwritten recipe cards?

Yes. You can start from photos, screenshots, recipe cards, and notes. The result remains editable if text or quantities need correction.

Does TasteBuddy keep the original recipe source?

Yes. TasteBuddy stores the source with the recipe so you can return to the original later.

Can I edit an imported recipe?

Yes. You can adjust the title, ingredients, steps, and other details after import.

How do I find a saved recipe again?

Use your personal recipe collection and search by terms, source, or category instead of checking old social saves, screenshots, and browser tabs.

Can I build a meal plan from my saved recipes?

Yes. Choose recipes from your collection and add them to the weekly plan, so planning starts with meals you already wanted to cook.

How does the shopping list work?

Ingredients from planned recipes can be moved into one shopping list. Review quantities and what you already have before shopping.

Do I need to plan the entire week?

No. Start with a few dinners and intentionally leave flexible days. The plan should reduce decisions, not become another obligation.

Which devices support TasteBuddy?

TasteBuddy is available for iOS and Android. A web app can also be opened in a browser.

Can I move recipes from Notion or Obsidian?

TasteBuddy includes import workflows for Notion databases and recipe files from Obsidian. The structure of the source data affects import quality.

What happens when an import is incomplete?

The recipe remains editable. Add missing ingredients or steps and keep the original source available as a reference.
