Chili con Carne

A hearty and spicy beef chili with beans and aromatic spices

Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (400g) chopped tomatoes
  • 1 can (400g) kidney beans, drained
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh coriander (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. 1 Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  2. 2 Add the ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. 3 Stir in the bell pepper, cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. 4 Add the tomato paste, chopped tomatoes, and kidney beans. Mix well.
  5. 5 Simmer uncovered for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. 6 Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot, garnished with fresh coriander if desired.
